Taking on a coach can be one of the quickest ways to speed up development. If you are looking to improve your self-image, perhaps hiring a coach is the right way to go. But before you sign on the dotted line, use these tips to find the right person for the job.

Ask About the Coaching Process

People who claim to be coaches often have an air about them that defies getting asked questions. People seem to automatically assume that because they hold the title of coach, they know what they are doing. It’s easy for anyone these days to make the claim of being a coach. Therefore, the first item you want to know about is what is going to be involved in the program. What will they be teaching you and what will be expected of you?

Is the Coach a Positive Influence?

You should be able to decide when speaking with your potential coach, whether he or she conveys a positive vibe. This is going to be required for a skill such as improving your self-image. If the coach seems negative or does not give off a good impression, it is unlikely they will help you with your self-image.

Get References

The ideal situation when seeking out references that a coach claims to have is to speak in person with those references. Try to get some proof as to how the coach helped those references improve their self-images. Did they go on to become positive influences on other people? This is usually a byproduct of one who has a positive outlook.

How Much Should They Charge?

It is tough to put an exact price tag on how much a coach should charge. If they charge too little, are they really any good and will they give you the full attention you deserve? There are certain coaches who will charge hefty fees for their services. In the end, if they can get you to your goal of improving your self-image, this will likely pay for itself. When comparing the cost of potential coaches, the price can’t be the only deciding factor.

Do They Offer a Guarantee?

A coach should have no issue with offering a guarantee if they are any good at what they do. You are likely to pay a fairly large sum so you should demand that they be willing to give you a guarantee.
