colorful-loveWhen my Mom was 84, I moved to Africa for work.  One night we were talking on the phone and laughing about my lack of ability to drive well on the other side of the road and my adjustment to my new life.  She said she was so happy for me and she knew I had found my rightful place.  Before she hung up, she said, “Whenever you get sad or lonely, remember I love you and I’ll send you a rainbow now and then to remind you.”  My mom passed away a few days later.  I’ll never know whether or not she knew it was time for her transition, but very often I look at the sky and see a rainbow… and I know she is near.
