When my Mom was 84, I moved to Africa for work. One night we were talking on the phone and laughing about my lack of ability to drive well on the other side of the road and my adjustment to my new life. She said she was so happy for me and she knew I had found my rightful place. Before she hung up, she said, “Whenever you get sad or lonely, remember I love you and I’ll send you a rainbow now and then to remind you.” My mom passed away a few days later. I’ll never know whether or not she knew it was time for her transition, but very often I look at the sky and see a rainbow… and I know she is near.
i love this story Judy. I am going to ‘borrow’ this to tell my daughter. I subliminally send her positivity all the time; this will be a great affirmation of my love for her.
Thank you for sharing!
Dear Michelle,
You are most welcome. I’m so glad you found something that will help you send positivity to your daughter. Mom’s are the most special people in the world.
