It’s never too late to be what you might have been or do what you might have done!
Often I hear people say they once wanted to do something or go somewhere, but they were too busy and life passed them by. They wish they could have been or done whatever it was. Well, think about this! You are still alive. As long as you are alive, you can do whatever it is that you wished you could have or would have done. Don’t give up on your dreams! As far as I know, this is the only life you are going to get. This is not a dress rehearsal. You are not going to get another chance to come back and do this over again….at least not in the form of who you are now. So you must do whatever it is that you wish you had done.
Did you see the movie, “The Bucket List?” If not, go rent it and watch it. It’s the story of two men who decide to do all the things they ever wanted to do. After watching it, make yourself a bucket list.
Marcus Aurelius, Roman philosopher, said, “If the mind of man can conceive an idea and believe it, the man can achieve it.” If we have created the image in our minds, we can produce the physical manifestation in our lives, even if such an image has never existed before. When you visualize something, you are establishing new patterns in your brain, the same as if you were actually doing what you are visualizing. You are directing your brain to give you the result you want. When you plan your day, it works the same way. You are visualizing your day. As you go through your daily activities, you may have to adjust and modify your actions in order to achieve the result you want.
So what is it that you want? What is your dream? Is it a trip? Where will you go? Who will you go with? What will you wear? What transportation will you take? Car? Plane? Train? Bus?
Perhaps you’d like a mate or a person to travel with? What kind of personality will he or she have? What values? What interests? How will this person treat you?
Maybe you’d like to volunteer? What kind of organization would you be most suited to working with? Would you prefer to work with children, adults, or the elderly? What time restraints will it have? What skills do you have to offer?
Don’t settle for things as they seem. You have been given free will in order for you to determine who you want to be and what you want to have and do. Your life is as limitless as your imagination. If you believe it can be done, your mind will start thinking up ways to make it happen.
In his book, The Magic of Thinking Big, the author, David Schwartz, states, “Believe, really believe, you can move a mountain and you can.” So think of something you wish you had done or been, or somewhere you wish you had gone. Write it down on a piece of paper and make a list of all the reasons why you can have, do, or be this. Just remember, as long as you are alive, it is never too late to be what you might have been or do what you might have done. Now take that first step!
