My business partner and I had a consulting job for a riverboat casino, One night as we were walking through the casino observing the customer service, we noticed one of the blackjack tables had approximately ten customers lined up waiting behind every chair. These customers were waiting for a turn to play at this particular table while other tables had empty chairs. We pushed our way up to where we could see the dealer. He was phenomenal. Buster was very professional with dealing the cards, and at the same time, he was extremely entertaining and funny. He was different than any other dealer we had ever seen. He was unique. He loved his job and it showed. Certainly, if I were going to play blackjack, I’d want to be at Buster’s table rather than at a table of some dealer who looked like he’d been weened on a pickle. Night after night, as we checked the service in the casino, we would see the same scenario. People waiting in line to play at Buster’s table rather than sitting down with someone with an unplesant personality. Who do you think was bringing in the most tips? Wouldn’t you think the other dealers would figure it out?
