Dear ^fname^,
Can you believe that summer is over? Kids are back in school and we have to slow down for school zones. What a busy year it’s been so far…with trying to keep up with my speaking schedule, book production, mentoring clients, cancer treatments and handling my sister’s estate, this has been one of my busiest summers ever!
I don’t have words to express how much I appreciate all the support, cards, and letters I have received from so many of you. I have good news. My cancer marker numbers are way down…that’s really good! And I’m feeling fine. Very fine, indeed.
This is the beginning of my year as President of the National Speakers Association, Las Vegas Chapter. We have a new board of directors, a new format, and new energy. The line up of speakers for the year is outstanding. I am very excited about the participation we are getting from the board. We had a board retreat on August 7th with former NSA President, Jim Cathcart, facilitating the meeting. We started and ended on time and got everything done that needed to be done. That was awesome. What an impressive group. On Friday night, August 6th, we attended Board Member, Mike Rayburn’s, show “What Happens in Vegas” at the Clarion Hotel. The magician in the show asked me to be his assistant, so I was up on stage with a big what appeared to be stuffed dog and when I patted it on the head, it jumped up and startled me so that I almost fell over backwards. It was quite fun! Does one ever get tired of living in Vegas? Not me!
Incidentally, that’s the name of my new story in our about to be released Life Choices: Putting the Pieces Together book….Not Me! The book will be launched on October 30th at the Palace Station Hotel & Casino at the Health and Wellness Exposition. Hope you’ll stop by and meet the authors.
We are now accepting stories for the new book, Life Choices: Pursuing Your Passion, which will be released in January. Let me know if you want me to send you the submission guidelines.
Have a wonderful autumn and remember,
You are more than enough,
Judi
Be Creative About Your Future
Don’t think for a moment that you aren’t creative. You are creating your life right now, one day at a time. So why not create the life you want? Everything you need to make your life what you want it to be already exists. What you must do is look at what you have and what’s around you. Then, figure out how to rearrange things from the way they are to the way you want them to be. The only time to settle for things as they are is when what they are is exactly what you want.
Can you see where you are going? Do you have a vision set firmly in your mind of how you want your life to be? Are you making the best of where you are now, in order to get where you want to go? Do you love your job? Your relationships? Your home? Your physique? Your lifestyle? Are you truly grateful for all you do and have? Are you making the most of your talents, skills, and abilities? Are you happy with yourself? If not, you are the only one who can do anything about it. Your happiness is your responsibility. Don’t blame the company where you work, your boss, your family, the city, the traffic, the weather, the car manufacturer, the oil company, or anyone else for your unhappiness.
Webster’s dictionary defines happiness as, “a state of well-being and pleasurable satisfaction.” For me, happiness is doing what I love to do with people I enjoy being around. Happiness is being able to use my talents, skills, and abilities to make a difference in the lives of others. We demonstrate happiness by being cheerful, joyful, optimistic, or content. The very demonstration of happiness brings more happiness. Happiness is a state of mind. You make a decision to do the things you need to do in order to make yourself happy. Abraham Lincoln once said, “A man is about as happy as he makes up his mind to be.”
Your success is waiting. Life is an adventure to be lived. Today is a new beginning. Imagine the exciting things you can do, the wonderful relationships you can have, the places you can go, and who you can be when you give up your fear. Choose success. It’s just as easy...if not easier...than failure. Based on my experiences, I can tell you that success certainly feels the better of the two. Choose success and you’ll never look back with regret. You will have more purpose, passion, and power when you decide to take total responsibility for who you are and the choices you make.
Your success is waiting for you.

Why Hire a Coach
Executives, managers, and others interested in personal or career growth and development increasingly turn to a mentor for a personally tailored development process. Working one-on- one with a mentor assists you in developing the skills and making the behavioral changes that will lead to greater personal and professional success.
Coaching involves a working partnership between mentor and client which provides structure, guidance and support for you, the client, to:
- Make an objective evaluation of your current state, including assumptions and perceptions about yourself, your work, your talents and your relationship to the world around you.
- Define and set realistic and achievable goals for yourself based on your own needs and desires.
- Develop an action plan geared toward reaching your goals.
- Continue learning through reflection on your actions and sharing feedback with others along the way.
Coaching can be useful in helping you address complex problems and/or attaining significant goals by gaining a new perspective. Highly individualized mentoring addresses your specific needs.
Judi works as a personal mentor to 10 clients per year. She currently has 3 openings. If you are interested in one of these openings, please call Judi at (702) 896-2228 before October 6th.
Mind Workout: Motivate Yourself
Go to your favorite quiet place or anywhere you can feel comfortable and relaxed. Allow yourself to dream about possibilities.
When you feel relaxed, list all of the things you would like to do and have as well as places you would like to go. It is important to identify the benefits you will derive from attaining your goals.
Make a list of any possible way you will benefit from each of your goals during or after attainment. Focus on your rewards.
Why should you be motivated?
What positive consequences will you enjoy when you put your plan into motion?
Visualize the rewards that achieving your goals will bring. Visualize clearly and vividly. Make it such a clear picture that you’ll do almost anything to be a part of it. When you drive toward that image, you are motivated.
