We bring about what we think aboutWe Bring About What We Think About

Have you been asking yourself questions such as, “Why is it taking me so long to achieve success? To find the right relationship? To get what I want out of life?”

If you have, perhaps it’s because you haven’t aligned your thinking to your wants, needs, and desires. What are you resisting? Do you really believe you can have what you want? Or do you think fate is against you?

You certainly are intelligent enough and worthy enough to get it. So, get a grip on yourself. Remember, even the most successful people have experienced periods when they felt disillusioned and discouraged. Yet, they have overcome these trials and tribulations because they have chosen the right attitude.

When we are discouraged and stressed; when life seems intolerable, even meaningless; when our lives are not going the way we want them to; and when events are taking place so fast that we don’t know the questions, never mind the answers, doesn’t it make sense that we should take control of our thoughts, so that we, too, can triumph?

Life comes to us in a series of challenges, and the attitude with which we choose to perceive these challenges and the mindset with which we prepare for them determines whether our lives are rewarding or not.

Victor Frankl, a Jewish psychiatrist who spent World War II in the same concentration camp where his wife and child were killed and the manuscript that was his life’s work was destroyed, later wrote a book, Man’s Search for Meaning. In it, Frankl asked himself why some people gave up and died under the difficult circumstances of a concentration camp while others not only survived, but grew stronger. From his observations, he concluded that the answer to this difficult question was “Attitude.” “What made the difference,” he wrote, “was how people chose to perceive the experience. In any given set of circumstances, everything can be taken from a person except the ability to choose one’s attitude.”

Remember: As we think, so shall we be. Quit asking the questions and start creating the answers. Decide what you want, why you want it, and the best way to go about getting it. When our goals are backed with purpose, we will find a way to accomplish them.

You can do it!
