positive affirmation wordsIrrational beliefs about ourselves can cause us to lose our self-esteem. Take those things in your life at which you are good and praise yourself. Write it on a piece of paper and put it on the mirror or your desktop and look at it daily. This list should consist of things that you think are worthwhile and that make you feel good about yourself.  Things like:

“I am a great organizer and can organize schedules so that they run efficiently.”
“I am able to create presentations that are inspiring and help others.”
“I am capable of budgeting and staying within that budget.”
“I am a great manager and am able to lead my team to success”
“I have an innate sense of what kind of clothing to wear to make the professional statement I want to make in any situation.”
“I am a people person. I have never met anyone I could not engage in conversation with and put them at ease.”
“I can fix anything.”
“I am able to put my mind to a problem and figure out a solution.”
“I am a fantastic parent.”
“I know how to change the tire on my car.”
“I fix the best pancakes.”
“I sew beautiful quilts.”
“I am a great athlete.”
“I have a great capacity for love.”

As you grow, you can add more things to this list. It may be that at first there are only a few things on your list. As you find more things to put on this list, you will be amazed at yourself. As your self-esteem stays strong and grows, you will gain confidence in yourself and be able to challenge yourself to step out and do those things you have always wanted to do.
